Board of County Commissioners Approves Ballot Measure for 29 Road Interchange
The Mesa County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a ballot measure that will go before voters this November to fund the long-awaited 29 Road interchange project. The measure will not raise taxes but allow the County and the City of Grand Junction to bond for up to $80 million to complete this critical infrastructure improvement.

On Dec. 19, 2023, at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, a historic event took place that will define the future of Mesa County: Xcel Energy and the Colorado River District signed a purchase and sale agreement to transfer ownership of the Shoshone water rights to allow for the permanent protection of the most senior, non-consumptive water right on the Colorado River.
