Kimberly Raff of Foster Alumni Mentors (FAM) shares her experiences growing up in foster care and aging out when the time came. Raff started FAM to support young adults aging out of foster care as well as those who were adopted or who grew up in kinship care.

FAM serves individuals 16 years old and up by providing opportunities to meet their basic needs and stabilize or improve their lives. Their services are of no cost to participants and are designed to support, prepare, and build confidence for foster alumni as they transition into adulthood and beyond. Additional resources provided by Mesa County include Passages, which is a part of the Human Services Child Welfare Division that offers several programs and experiences to help youth and young adults transition from foster care to independent adulthood. Learn more at mesacountypassages.org
