Starting Aug. 1, 2024, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) will provide law enforcement services to the Town of Collbran. In an intergovernmental agreement approved by Mesa County Commissioners at their July 30 public hearing, the town agreed to pay $145,835 for law enforcement for the remainder of 2024 and $350,000 for the entire calendar year 2025.

Collbran has been without its Marshal for several months, leaving it in need of a dedicated law enforcement officer. While MCSO has provided their services to the town on an as needed basis in the past, the new contract will ensure two full-time Collbran Deputies are responsible for their law enforcement needs.
