Mesa County is a place with endless potential for outdoor adventures, and this summer is the perfect time to get out of the house and explore. Just remember that if you want your furry best friend to enjoy these adventures with you, it is important to always bring a leash.

According to the county's regulations, dogs must be on a leash that is no more than 10 feet in length when in public areas. These laws are in place to protect the well-being of both animals and humans.

Public spaces should be enjoyable and safe for everyone, and by leashing your dog you contribute to the wellbeing and harmony of the community. Loose dogs can create a public health hazard and often endanger residents and their pets. Keeping your dog under control minimizes the risk of potentially harmful situations, such as unexpected interactions with vehicles, other dogs, wildlife, or individuals who may fear or be allergic to dogs.

Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and keeping outdoor spaces safe for all to enjoy!
