During this week's Oct. 3 administrative public hearing, the commissioners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mesa County and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The purpose of the MOU is to establish a mechanism for coordination in land use actions, determine appropriate involvement by each party in the development, implementation, and revision of respective management plans and conservation of fish and wildlife resources, and coordinate the management of habitat for federally listed species and unlisted species of concern within Mesa County.
